Kon-Tiki 2 expedition departs to Easter Island

(8 Nov 2015) A group of 14 explorers departed on Saturday on two balsa wood rafts from Peru toward Easter Island. The Kon Tiki 2 crew is embarking on a scientific expedition to show that ancient Peruvians had sufficient navigation skills and technology to carry out a similar journey before the arrival of Europeans to South America.
