MAP REVEAL Over the past few months, we’ve been working with the talented to create… (9/9)

🌍 MAP REVEAL 🌍 Over the past few months, we’ve been working with the talented @bethwalrond to create this colourful illustrated map of Aldabra Atoll and Assomption Island. We wanted to celebrate the extraordinary biodiversity of this place - on land AND under water. 🐠🦩🦋🐢🐋🪸🐬 👀 How many species can you spot? Giant tortoises? Rays? Birds? Mangroves? Tell us in the comments! For those new here: Aldabra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a global biodiversity hotspot recognised by Sir David Attenborough as “One of the world’s greatest surviving natural treasures”. We’re working to protect it - and nearby Assomption Island - from a luxury hotel development which risks destroying this rich and special ecosystem. 🌱 Our hope for this map? To get it into schools in Seychelles (and beyond!) as an educational tool to inspire curiosity, care and connection with nature. If you would like to help make that happen, get in touch: friendsofaldabra@gmail.com In Beth’s words: “Illustrating the map of Aldabra and Assomption islands helped me to understand how rich the biodiversity is on these small islands… It made me think about the importance of maps and how they can be used to tell stories of far away places, and bring them closer to our hearts.” (Full comment in our post 💙) #ProtectAldabra #ProtectAssomption #Seychelles
