STOP means STOP… or does it?

🚧 STOP means STOP… or does it? On 15 May 2025, Planning Authorities issued a stop notice for construction on Assomption Island, citing environmental concerns and calling for all work to STOP. Yet… construction appears to have continued. 🤔 Since the beginning, something in the Assomption timelines just doesn’t add up. Why is construction allowed to begin before environmental oversight is established? And who in government is overriding Planning Authorities and waving these notices aside? And what is their motivation to do so? We’ve been told that when Seychellois builders launch a project, rules are strictly enforced. But for international developers, it seems the red carpet is rolled out instead. Our concerns are two-fold: 1️⃣ Double standards: international projects appear to bypass rules and procedures. 2️⃣ Environmental neglect: why weren’t strict protection measures in place from day one — and why are they still missing today? This isn’t just about one island. It’s about transparency, accountability, and equal treatment for all. #Seychelles #Aldabra #Assomption #ProtectAldabra
