UNESCO recognizes Aldabra as one of the most undisturbed, globally significant natural sites on Earth. It was granted World Heritage status because of its extraordinary biodiversity, ecological significance, and near-pristine condition. So when a destructive development is on Aldabra’s doorsteps, and a national investigation has validated environmental breaches, lack of proper oversight, and that the development “poses serious, insufficiently studied environmental risks”… …why is @unesco silent? The media is picking up on this and questioning UNESCO’s silence and what may be driving it. Why haven’t they said anything at all concerning the risks that Aldabra faces because of this hotel?
