“Everything’s been rushed...The one that’s gonna lose out there is Aldabra.” Guy Esparon, Board Member of @sif_seychelles, spoke about the situation on Assomption at the Commission of Inquiry. He highlights that: ⚔️ Seychelles are the guardians of Aldabra, holding it in trust for humanity 🛑 Rushed processes put Aldabra at risk 🐠 Aldabra is a place of extraordinary resilience and wonder 🌊 The Marine Spatial Plan must be enforced: the Aldabra Group lies in Zone 1, the highest level of protection We shouldn’t risk compromising a place like Aldabra. Rushed decisions and commercial timelines are what have brought us to this point, which is why it’s so important that the stop notice stays in place and that a 1-year biodiversity assessment of Assomption Island is done carefully and thoroughly.
