Arran Strong
Arran Strong was a professional surfer from Ericeira — Spanish-born, British, taught to surf by his mother, diagnosed with Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency at three and open about it for the rest of his life. He surfed for Surfing England as a junior and Great Britain at the 2024 and 2025 ISA World Championships, coached, and made the Strong4Cast interview series. He was lost at sea off Portugal in August 2026. This is his own record of it: 967 Instagram posts from September 2013 to July 2026, his TikToks, and his own films — his words, in his order.

Eras
- Ericeira, growing up — From his first post in September 2013 — "chilling at my house after mega surfing sesh" — through the teenage years in Ericeira: the crew, the Coxos sessions, the alaia he shaped himself, the first junior contests.
- Competing — The junior competition years, heats and world juniors, and the beginning of the partnership with CSL Behring — the point at which he started talking publicly about surfing with Alpha-1 rather than around it.
- Projects and the Pacific — Travel, hand-shaped boards, the Pacific trip he called one of the best experiences of his life, and the New Year posts where he counted being alive and healthy as the thing worth noting.
- Finding the voice — Filming more, writing more, thinking out loud in captions about fear, wipeouts and intuition — the stretch where he moved from being filmed to making the thing himself.
