The Roland TB-303 producing the sound it is famous for: the resonant, sliding squelch that Phuture turned into acid house. Roland built it as a bass accompaniment for guitarists, sold it from 1981 to 1984, discontinued it as a failure, and it was rescued secondhand and used entirely wrong.
