Roland TB-303 Bass Line in action

The TB-303 demonstrated as an instrument: the filter cutoff and resonance being swept live, producing the squelch that Chicago producers found by misusing a machine sold as a bass accompaniment for guitarists. Roland made it from 1981 to 1984, sold badly, and discontinued it; the cheap secondhand units that resulted are what made acid house possible.
