A Tynwald Day special from Manx Radio's Woman on Mann. In 1881 the elected House of Keys voted to strike the word male from the franchise bill entirely and to let women stand for election; the Legislative Council and Lieutenant Governor Loch cut it back to propertied spinsters and widows over 21.
