Laxey Wheel - They Called a 72-Foot Waterwheel "Engineering Insanity", It's Pumped for 171 Years

The Great Laxey Wheel, 72 feet 6 inches in diameter. It was built in 1854 to pump floodwater from the Glen Mooar workings up to the Main Adit, which carried the water out to the Laxey River and the sea.
