Ellan Vannin is the Manx name for the island, and the song of that name is treated as an unofficial anthem. The national anthem is Arrane Ashoonagh Vannin. Choral singing is long established on the island, and the Manx Music Festival, known locally as the Guild, has been its main competitive stage.
