The Tynwald Hill Inn at St John's with flags flying for Tynwald Day, normally held on 5 July. Tynwald's own record states there is no documentary evidence of a first sitting in 979; the millennium celebrated in 1979 rested on a date chosen by officials rather than found in any source.
