A Manx Loaghtan sheep. The breed's name comes from the Manx lugh dhoan, mouse brown; by the 1950s only 43 animals survived, and the Rare Breeds Survival Trust raised it to priority status in 2025 because numbers are falling again, with fewer than 1,500 registered breeding females.
