If this trash was polluting your backyard, would you leave it there? Every year, we produce more than 400 million tonnes of plastic waste, and only 9% is recycled. So where does the rest go? Much of it ends up in landfills, the ocean, or washed up along our coastlines. We’ve become so used to seeing litter in cities that we almost expect it. But when you find the same pollution on a remote, uninhabited island surrounded by wildlife, it becomes very clear that this does not belong here. Just because we don’t see it every day doesn’t mean it’s not our problem. For our crews at In The Same Boat, this is the reality that we face every s
