As someone who has been involved with beachcleaning and the fight against marine litter (which is ofc just a symptom of ALL the environmental and humanitarian crises we are facing) for years now, it can sometimes feel extremely overwhelming. Seeing another animal trapped in a net, hearing plastic crunch beneath your feet where there should be nothing but grass and wildflowers. Then you turn on the news, and more collapse and horror is happening. But listen, the fact that we feel something is GOOD! Thank god we haven’t lost our humanity and empathy.
