Canisters. Fishing nets. Ropes. Plastic bottles. Styrofoam. A few days ago, we anchored near Barøya aboard our arctic vessel Qilak ⚓️ What you’re seeing is the result of just one day of beach cleaning: 5 volunteers, 1 dinghy, and lots of trash. ⛵️ Living aboard sailboats allows us to reach remote shores where marine debris accumulates far from roads, towns, and regular cleanups. Even here, in the Arctic, plastic finds its way ashore. 🌊 #BeachCleanup #Arctic #MarineDebris #OceanConservation #PlasticPollution
