Splinter groups broke from a larger San Francisco demonstration against federal immigration enforcement, and a McDonald's beside the 24th Street BART station was graffitied before police moved in. The June 2025 protests followed ICE arrests and the National Guard deployment to Los Angeles; a downtown march that month ended with more than 150 arrests.
