Lawrence Ferlinghetti, who co-founded City Lights with Peter D. Martin on Columbus Avenue in 1953 and published Ginsberg's Howl in the Pocket Poets series, marks his hundredth birthday in this hour-long broadcast. He speaks as poet, publisher and defendant, the man who was charged with publishing the book that the state tried to seize. It is a first-person account from the last surviving principal of the case.
