Birth of Victory at the Richmond shipyards

A 1946 industrial film on the Richmond shipyards and their part in wartime production, following the prefabrication plant and the shipways that made Yard No. 2 the highest-volume yard on the coast. The Richmond yards closed in 1945 to 1946 having delivered 747 ships, among them 519 Liberty ships, about a fifth of the American total. Preserved by the Charlie Dean Archives.
