The bound cover of Reminiscences and Incidents of the Early Days of San Francisco, published by the Mission Journal Publishing Company. Brown, who lived from 1810 to 1905, ran a hotel in the settlement before the Gold Rush, and his account is counted among the eighty landmark books of California printing known as the Zamorano 80.
