Union Square merchants describe a retail rebound

By late 2025 Union Square was signing tenants again after the flagship exodus of the pandemic years, with Pop Mart, Nintendo and John Varvatos among the arrivals. Uniqlo had announced in October that it would return downtown at 801 Market Street, the former Old Navy flagship, four years after closing its Powell Street store.
