A panoramic company portrait of Battery D, 347th Field Artillery, photographed at Camp Lewis in Washington State rather than in San Francisco, with officers and mascot dogs in the ranks. The regiment was one of the artillery units raised on the West Coast for the First World War. The plate reached the National Park Service through the Presidio's panoramic photograph collection, which is how it sits among the San Francisco material.
