Corpsmen demonstrate the French lift at the Angel Island station

First-aid instruction at the Naval Training Station on Angel Island, with hospital corpsmen showing the French lift for raising a casualty. Mrs. C. R. Miller made the photograph, one of a wartime series now in the National Archives. The station trained sailors in San Francisco Bay during the First World War.
