The city stops during the general strike
1934
Period film of the San Francisco general strike, voted by the Labor Council's strike committee after the silent funeral march for Sperry and Bordoise up Market Street on 9 July. Roughly 130,000 workers across the city stopped work from 16 to 19 July in support of the longshoremen. Only a handful of designated services were allowed to keep running.
