A wartime film follows a Richmond hull from keel to launch

A 1940s American educational documentary on the Richmond shipyards, following a ship from the laying of the keel through to launch. Yard No. 2's prefabrication plant and 27 shipways were the signature Richmond sight, and prefabrication is what allowed the SS Robert E. Peary to go from keel to launch in four days in November 1942 against a realistic yard average of about 42 days.
