White Beach, Russell Islands, Solomon Islands | WWII Relics Dive
2026
Dive at White Beach, Mbanika, Russell Islands, Solomon Islands, the Allied code name for the beach where US forces landed in February 1943 (Operation Cleanslate) and built Naval Base Banika with its PT-boat base. At war's end, trucks, bulldozers and ammunition were simply dumped off the wharf; today it's a coral-encrusted underwater muse.
