“This Higgins made ship, far from its birthplace in New Orleans, La., is one of the reasons why Marine Corps troops have Jap forces on the run in the Solomon Islands. The Higgins craft, pictured between two native boats, is used not only for transportation of men and weapons in the attack by also for the removal of the wounded.
