Gabber and hardcore come out of the Netherlands, centred on Rotterdam, with labels including Rotterdam Records and Mokum and the Thunderdome events run by ID&T. The culture is visually distinctive and its material is fan-made, VHS-era and weakly policed, which is why it survives freely at all.
