River has always been one of my favorites to photograph. He feels everything out loud. Every step, every shift, every breath. He doesn’t just move, he tells you something with it. But last night… he was different. Soft. Peaceful. Glowing. The sun was going down, it was 75 degrees, and everything felt still for a second. And there he was, just existing in it. Not surviving.
