On July 10, one of the largest wild horse roundups of the year is scheduled to begin. The BLM plans to remove around 2,000 wild horses from Nevada’s Callaghan Complex as the first phase of a much bigger plan. Over the next several years, that plan could remove up to 4,837 horses from this herd complex and reduce the population to 323 to 552 horses. I’ve been thinking about this a lot the last few days. On paper, they’re population numbers. But I don’t see numbers. I think about the bands I’v
