Toei Doga from 1956, the first Japanese studio built on the American model, and Hakujaden in 1958. Yasuji Mori and Yoichi Kotabe trained a generation here, among them a young Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, and the studio's labour disputes are part of its record.
