Many users on TikTok and elsewhere believed that Marlon's "I fooled the internet" video was cringe because of a perception that his publicity stunt was ill-conceived and went unnoticed. Marlon's choice of words in the video was also mocked, like when he called "stage 1" of his plan the "crashout stage." Marlon then deleted the YouTube video and addressed it in a follow-up, claiming that his editors had posted it by mistake. Memes making fun of Marlon for the video surfaced en masse on TikTok in the following weeks.

In the clip, Speed uncovers his mouth to quickly say the N-word, and its initial use in video caption memes largely used the soundbite memetically.

The post was met with skepticism after evidence that CourseMediocre7998 appeared online on Xbox Live after she purportedly died. Some believed that Riobox was being catfished and tricked. The incident inspired memes on Reddit using the phrase "She is no more more" or "She's no more more," a sentence used by CourseMediocre7998 when caliming she had died.
