Origins
Stuttgart, 1948. Ferry Porsche cannot find a sports car to buy that matches the one he wants to drive, so he builds it himself. The 356 — VW running gear, aluminium body hand-rolled in a Gmünd sawmill — becomes the foundation of the entire brand. From the 356 to the first 911 prototype, the company invents itself in two decades.
