Factories

Production lines and plant interiors: glass forming, frit sealing, phosphor screening, gun mounting, evacuation, ageing racks, chassis assembly, coil winding, wave soldering, and the panel cleanrooms that replaced all of it. The story runs from America and Europe to Japan, then Korea, then China, and it is told here in Russian, German, Japanese, Korean and Chinese sources as well as English, because an English search alone ends it in Japan in 1985.
