Tung Tung Tung Sahur

On 28 February 2025 an Indonesian TikTok account posted an AI-generated wooden creature holding a club, captioned "hati hati", be careful, and narrated as a terrifying anomaly that comes only at sahur, for anyone called three times who does not answer. It went up one day before Ramadan began in Indonesia. Within a month the record puts it past 135 million views, and the character, nicknamed Triple T, became the most recognisable thing in the brainrot wave.

Part of Triple T

74 moments in this segment.

  1. - Tung tung tung, an alarm rhythm. A still of the character as it circulated through March 2025. On a real kentongan the rhythm carries the message: a slow beat signals all-clear, a rapid one signals fire, theft or danger. To an Indonesian ear the meme's frantic repeated knocking reads as an alarm rather than a summons, which is a large part of why the joke works.
  2. - A minute of the sahur chant. A 69-second edit built entirely on the character's repeated chant. The caption is little more than the name itself.
  3. - Tung Tung Tung at the dawn call to prayer. Posted 10 March 2025, in the second week of Ramadan, tying the character to the azan subuh, the dawn call to prayer that closes the sahur window. It gathered over nine million views. This is roughly where the meme stopped being a character and became a seasonal running joke.
  4. - Bombing a house and running off. A five-second cartoon in which the character drops a bomb on a house and runs, per the Indonesian caption. The record puts it past 1.9 million views.
  5. - The character caught in a blast. A follow-up from the same account in which the character ends up the victim of an explosion rather than the one setting it off.

  7. - How to draw Tung Tung Tung Sahur. A drawing tutorial posted 21 March 2025 in reply to a request, which gathered 7.7 million views. Children copying an AI-generated character by hand is the clearest sign it had become folk material rather than a single image file.
  8. - The character wants to street-race. 'Tung tung nak rempit jugak', in Malay, the character wants to join the street racers too. The record puts it past 5.6 million views.

  50. - Tracing the wooden figure to a Thai ad.
