Damage has already been done on Assomption Island.

Damage has already been done on Assomption Island. The gravely injured tortoise photo in September 2025 was a symbol of that. The Commission of Inquiry has raised more environmental concerns: from the filling of karst caves to a 5.5 km water pipe on the beach impeding sea turtle movement. That’s exactly why construction must stop. In his deposition, @rich_in_nature explains that we need a full year to study what wildlife is active on Assomption and define how to protect it. Continuing construction activities while carrying out a biodiversity assessment simply makes no sense.
