During the public inquiry, the question of the new Assomption Task Force was raised with both @victoria_duthil and Lucie Harter (@move_with_lucie @seychellesatheart). This brought up the issues of: ⭕ A closed circle of decision-makers (Matilda Twomey described the situation as “incestuous”), ⚔️ Potential conflicts of interest and, 🎪 How can a body made up of the same institutions that created the problem now be trusted to fix it and provide independent oversight. Friends of Aldabra has written to the Ministry of the Environment to flag its concerns about the Task Force membership. What are your thoughts on this Task Force? Let us know below!
