It’s been a busy few weeks since the trip to Assomption on December 1st. There has been as much to be grateful for, and just as much to be concerned about. To everyone who has added their voice to ours: thank you. Your support matters more than you know, and it strengthens this work every step of the way. 🇸🇨🙏 We remain as committed as ever to protect Seychelles’ extraordinary natural heritage. Here are some recent behind-the-scenes moments: 1. The view from one of the private residential villas on Assomption on the north-west tip of the island. The base structure is complete. The impact of nighttime lighting on turtles and other wildlife seems to have been totally ignored in the design phase of the development. 🧱 2. A panoramic view of the beach on Assomption. Believed to be one of the most important sea turtle nesting beaches in the region. ☀️ 3. Thank you to Mr. Pierre Laporte, Seychelles Minister for Finance @ministryfinance.seychelles, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment for taking the time to meet with us and discuss the economic development aspect of the Assomption development. 4. & 5. We were delighted to meet with members of the 20th Cohort of the Seychelles National Youth Assembly to talk about our campaign and learn about what they are doing. We’re looking forward to working closely with @snya_20th_cohort nya_20th_cohort. Stay tuned! 🔈 6. Eternally grateful for the blessing of Seychelles’ incredible nature. It keeps us hopeful and fuels our determination to keep fighting for Assomption and Aldabra. Here, one of our favourite fruit bats is enjoying a little snack. 🦇 7.
