What are Indian Clubs? A Brief History of the Exercise

A history of Indian clubs, the mugdar of the South Asian akhara, which were exported into British and American military and gymnastic training in the nineteenth century. This is a documented transmission from a non-Western tradition into Western physical culture, and it runs opposite to the usual telling.
