Development is not measured by how much concrete is poured.

Development is not measured by how much concrete is poured. Development is when young people can imagine a future in their own country. It’s when hospitals, schools, and public services improve. It’s when local communities have a real voice in decisions that affect them. It’s when people can speak up without fear of intimidation or losing their jobs. It’s when wages, pensions, and opportunities keep pace with the cost of living. It’s when economic growth improves the lives of ordinary people, not just investors. It’s when media is free to report without pressure or censorship. It’s when environmental impact assessments happen before projects are approved. It’s when protected areas are actually protected. It’s when beaches remain public. It’s when local families can build businesses and actually benefit from tourism. Development is not measured by how much is built. It’s measured by how many people benefit from it.
