🦩 The Flamingo Protest reached Strasbourg this week🦩 We joined @ppnea at the European Parliament to bring the voices of thousands protesting in Tirana against illegal developments threatening Vjosa-Narta. And we won. The EU Parliament adopted a strong resolution calling on Albania to repeal the law enabling destruction of protected areas and suspend developments until then - in direct support of the Flamingo Protests. This is only a first step. The fight continues until the law is repealed, nature is protected, and damage is restored. But the message is bigger: defending nature and democracy is one fight. Strong laws matter. And people show up when something precious is at stake. People protect nature not only because it is vital, but because it is part of who they are - their wellbeing, identity, and sense of place. And that is why it matters for Europe too.
