The Chicago DJ and producer Chip E. in 2018. He worked at the Importes Etc. record shop in the early 1980s and is one of four people with a competing account of how house got its name; his version has the shop's bins labelled 'As Heard at the Warehouse', shortened by customers to House. None of the four accounts is documented, and no one should pick between them.
