A whale shouldn’t die from our waste. Ghost gear doesn’t disappear. It continues to drift, trap, and harm long after it’s lost. At In The Same Boat, we work both to remove lost gear already polluting our ocean and coastline, and to collaborate with the fishing industry to reduce gear loss at the source. Cleanup and prevention must go hand in hand. We can’t normalise these events. We must take action to protect our ecosystems and the wildlife that depend on them.
