Prince Alfonso de Hohenlohe, Venice, 1955

Press photographers surround Ira von Fürstenberg, her brother Egon, and her fiancé Prince Alfonso de Hohenlohe-Langenburg in Venice on 21 September 1955, days before their wedding. Hohenlohe was the jet-set impresario who had founded the Marbella Club on the Costa del Sol two years earlier. In 1974, after holidaying at Enrique Corcuera's house in Acapulco, he had cement walls and chicken wire put up around a Marbella Club tennis court, creating the first padel courts in Europe. 1024x764.
