Els Enfarinats - first documented reference (els emmantats)

The earliest documentary reference associated with the Ibi festival dates to 1862, when a group called 'els emmantats' (the cloaked ones) was recorded in the town's book of ordinances, understood as the forerunner of Els Enfarinats. Some sources place its organisation at the end of the 18th century, and others claim records to 1636, but 1862 is the earliest firm documentary attestation. A recurring annual custom whose origin is genuinely unclear.
