Lurie discusses the conversations with President Trump that preceded the calling off of a threatened surge of federal immigration agents into San Francisco. The plan, announced by the Department of Homeland Security, was scrapped in October 2025 after Trump cited conversations with the mayor and with tech executives who live in the area.
