A War Department blueprint of Fort McDowell, the Army post on Angel Island in San Francisco Bay. The island served as a military reservation long before and alongside its use as an immigration station, and drawings like this one recorded its layout for the Corps. The sheet comes from the War Department Map Collection at the National Archives.
