Five women who built ships at the Kaiser yards

Trailer for a documentary following five women who travelled to Richmond, California during the Second World War to build ships at the Kaiser yards, then the largest shipbuilding operation in the world. Women rose from 13.7 percent of Richmond production workers in early 1943 to over 27 percent by mid-1944, and the real job there was overwhelmingly welding rather than riveting.
