San Francisco fishing felucca under sail
1890
An illustration of a San Francisco fishing felucca, the lateen-sailed boat brought to the bay by Italian fishermen and used to work the local grounds. It was published by Joseph William Collins in his survey of fishing vessels and boats of the Pacific coast for the United States Fish Commission. The report documented the small craft that supplied the city's fish markets.
