Tung tung tung, an alarm rhythm

A still of the character as it circulated through March 2025. On a real kentongan the rhythm carries the message: a slow beat signals all-clear, a rapid one signals fire, theft or danger. To an Indonesian ear the meme's frantic repeated knocking reads as an alarm rather than a summons, which is a large part of why the joke works.
